I stopped getting Doritos when they went above $4/bag (prices are in USD and are what is printed on the bag, not what is displayed on the store shelf). I was already on the fence when it was $3/bag and stopped buying it on impulse from convenience stores. I would still indulge occasionally, but only when I could snag a deal at the grocery store. Then, around the time of the COVID price gouging, it went above $5 and I consider that insane for tortilla chips sprinkled with powder. Last time I saw the price of a bag of Doritos, I was at a 7-eleven and it was over $6. That’s fucked up. You’re mostly buying air anyway.
