The UX is a mess. Small example: if you try to manually identify a movie against a db, it will give you a list of matches with cover thumbnails and the first 10 characters of the name. So you click one to see if it’s the right match, and it shows you exactly the same information, but in a modal prompting if you want to apply this (you can only nuke metadata, not merge or select values you want). If you’re still unsure and want to see the others, you can click back (in the modal), which makes Jellyfin panic and bring you all the way back to the movie page, your API/DB search wasted and needing to be run again, i.e. starting over from scratch.

It’s not impossibly complex. You’ve just had it explained to you pretty well and succinctly.

Boiled potatoes shouldn’t be mushy. If you boil potatoes to mush, then you mash them. Mashed potatoes.
