I always fucked up making pizza dough. I’d weigh the ingredients to the gram, work it per the instructions, and it always ended up a sloppy mess or dry clusterfuck.

I finally figured out hydration based on how the dough reacts. It took me 50 pizzas to get it right. Now I don’t even measure.

But I can only make pizza dough :) Bread works out slight differently

  • They almost had alarms once. The fire code requires you to be able to get out in case of a fire. So they put doors in that pseudo lock and have alarms to try to keep people from stealing but allow them to escape in case of a fire.

In high theft areas or new buildings, they often still work.

The first time they break or someone disables them they have a high chance of never getting reactivated

You message is is medically wrong, It misunderstands both diabetes and hypoglycemia, and it gives unsafe advice.

A diabetic with low blood sugar absolutely does need fast‑acting sugar.
That’s not optional, not “only if they messed up,” and not something complex carbs can fix quickly enough.

Hypoglycemia is an acute medical emergency, especially for insulin‑dependent diabetics.

Complex carbs (starches) take 20–60 minutes to digest.

A hypoglycemic diabetic can lose consciousness in under 5 minutes.

Simple sugars are only necessary if they messed up by not eating enough and already have dangerously low levels.

    This is false.

Hypoglycemia is extremely common in diabetics, especially those using insulin or sulfonylureas. It is not a separate condition. It is a direct consequence of diabetes treatment.

    Insulin overdose

    Delayed meals

    Exercise

    Alcohol

    Illness

Normal day‑to‑day variation in insulin sensitivity

All can cause hypoglycemia in diabetics.

So saying “that’s hypoglycemia, not diabetes” shows a misunderstanding of how diabetes works.

You should consider educating yourself about diabetic hypoglycemia or insulin_overdose. before you start handing out medical advice.

  • I used to sell soda at work. We’d go buy cases when it went on sale and sell it to the people.

A sale in 2000/2001 would cost you ~ $0.20 a can. Stuff not on sale would be a touch over a quarter, so we sold the soda for a quarter. Never made any money, we just didn’t feel like paying $0.75 a can when the company stopped giving out free soda and put in a vending machine.

For the next few years, the sales would be closer to a quarter a can with an occasional sale being closer to 20 cents.

Costco is currently around $0.61 for Diet coke.
