That episode was weird because it didn’t exactly portray that stuff as sane, despite having Jewish writers, including Seinfeld right around that time. I don’t know much about Larry David’s politics and beliefs, but it could have been him taking a swipe at Jerry and other weird Jews. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen a Jewish writer criticize their own community.
