    No it doesn’t. It’s about friction. They want people logged in to better monitor them and collect their data. If someone uses their service while logged out the platforms make it difficult as possible in as many ways as possible to “encourage” people to create an account and log in. “Protecting the children” is just a satanic panic excuse. PARENTS are responsible for managing their children’s online activities. Expecting platform providers to be the arbitrators of morality for our kids (or for adults) is how we ended up with Elon Musk’s fucked up CSM generator on twixxer.
