It’s kind of like Balatro with Blackjack, but it’s also an allegory for gambling addictions and the devastation it causes to others.
I’ve been having fun with it recently.

I’ve never had to explain it but if I did I would just say imagine a board game where you roll a dice, move that many spaces, and maybe get a random card. Just replace the dice with a deck of cards, where getting better cards is like rolling a higher number on the dice.
I heard that YouTube was demonetizing some early Balatro videos over this misunderstanding
Tgey had a few issue with awards and shit because of that. Meanwhile people gamble away billions playimg fifa, but that’s fine.
