(asume im old like 65) ppl say not to put random scripts into the terminal but how do you know if ones ok or bad?? (computer stuff is just giberish to me)

You either learn what the commands mean and do, or you trust the person who wrote them. There are no shortcuts.
If someone is giving you a long list of commands to run, that’s pretty sus. Usually what I need is done with 2-3 commands.
Be extra cautious about any commands that install software, especially from untrusted sources. There is no good way to vet software.
By learning what the computer stuff does until it isn’t gibberish anymore. Ask people to explain it to you. Hopefully they will do it in such a way that you can look up yourself what everything means.
Take the script apart , slow down and analyze everything you don’t understand. The more reading and practicing the better.

you should really have a basic understanding of anything you put in the terminal. Conversely I think everyong who uses the web should have a general idea of things they see in the url like when google encapsulates a link and such.
