I mean, “made in Japan” used to mean that something was cheap and may not last. That’s generally not something that’s heard these days. Then Korea, Taiwan, etc.
I’d say it’s the opposite about Japan now. Especially about cars and electronics.

The things that are made in Japan that are made well, are made to a standard that very few can touch. I’m thinking about a lot of vintage stereo equipment where the word “Japan” on it means instant purchase
