    Polite reminder that it is possible to change the search engines your browser uses. I recommend Mozilla Firefox with No AI DuckDuckGo. I want to write down tips, because this was not so easy for me the first time I did it…

    So anyone can do this by following these steps;

    1. Click the three vertical stripes and go to “Settings”
    2. Click “Search”
    3. Scroll until you see “Additional search engines”
    4. Click the “+ Add search engine”
    5. Write down a name and add this link (without 25) in the URL bar = https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?q=%25s
    6. Add the engine
    7. Go back up to “Default search engine” and change it to the one you just created
    8. Enjoy slightly better internet (optional)

    // FUQ I can’t edit this right no matter what I do, but remove the 25 from the link manually!

      on a computer, you can just go to the web site…

      https://noai.duckduckgo.com/

      right-click in the search box on the page itself and ‘add search engine’.

      then if you want it to be the default, hop into settings, go to search settings and change it.

      Ironically I switched off of ddg to brave search because I wanted to block more than 5 AI embracing websites. I haven’t yet tested it thoroughly yet because AI overviews were quite helpful the last month for syntax questions and that were all my searches, but now I want (and am able) to test brave search without AI and with weights to curate my search.
