“The difference between socialism and communism is…”
Tell me you don’t know what socialism is without telling that directly.
I mean the best countries are democratic socialists countries operating under regulated capitalism.
Properly regulated capitalism is a solid economic system.
A Government should provide:
- Food, health and housing security.
- Regulation of private industries to prevent abuse of people, finance, ecosystems.
- A reasonable amount of military strength that is adequate to protect the nation.
- Taxation that allows for points 1,2, and 3 and prevents insane wealth accumulation at the top.
Welfare is not socialism. Socialism is a broader system with a worker state and public ownership of the commanding heights of the economy. Regulations without a worker state and without public ownership of the commanding heights is always twisted in a manner that either protects capital or entrenches it. The European social democracies all rely on imperialism for their safety nets because they do not have socialism.
Socialism in China lifted 800,000,000 people out of poverty in 40 years and now they’re replacing America as the global hegemon. Socialism allowed the USSR to beat the Americans to space, despite the fact that 30 years prior everyone was peasents, and they just got fucked by the 2nd world war.
Communism isn’t socialism
China has not developed into communism yet. Socialism is a transitional status between capitalism and communism.
Uhh… Yeah, exactly. Do you know the difference? Communism is moneyless, classless, and stateless.
It is literally the end goal of all marxist organizing, it’s actually Nordic “socialism” that is not socialism.
