How is DPRK isolationist? Is Cuba also “isolationist”? Is Iran “isolationist”? How about Yemen? And for that matter, Palestine?
What you call isolationism, most of the world call unilateral sanctions and war.
I’ve read somewhere (which means it’s highly reliable) that they’re trying to work in isolation to be self-sufficient, is that wrong?
It’s true they value self-sufficiency but that does not imply isolationism, DPRK is perfectly happy to maintain friendly international relations and trade.
