Attackers are buying expired domains to exploit their reputation, traffic and DNS history, using them for malware delivery, scams and C2 infrastructure.

Just remember you can do it too for expired malware domains. But not to serve malware, to see how much is still out there, calling home forever until you answer.

Someone at securityaffairs found this article that dropped between the desk and wall in 1997 and apparently just didn’t want it to go to waste.

When I open the article, I’m immediately hit by the strong smell of old coffee, cigarettes, and sadness. Weird.

Hopefully they screw over whoever stole https://brick.love/ from me. They aren’t even using the domain and it’s got my name on it.

Them sniping an expired domain isn’t crooked. Them using it to serve malware is.
