They had a failed attempt to pressure congress which generates 600 dollar checks. Then 1400 was later added to that to “complete” the promise, so while 2600 is better than 2000, it wasn’t scummy except to the extent that the Republicans in congress immediately turned on the American people once it was politically advantageous not to deliver.

100% isn’t my standard, but I think saying “elect my guys and get money” when the intention is to actually do it when he has power to (and he did) rather than Trump saying it when he absolutely can do it right now with full control of all branches of government. In other words, “do this so we want to help you.” Vs “do this so we can help you” very different.
