        I think it’s more that these people see this as another way to reach their intended “audience” so it’s not so much that he wants them to be affected in any way by the content of what hes saying, but more “pay attention to me! I’m saying the things you want to hear! (Give me money!)”

        Intentionally make someone’s life worse, tell them only you can make it better, their life contionusly gets worse, instead of learning not trust you they become dependent on you.
