This belief occurs because the general population has a misconception of what cancer really is. Cancer is not a single illness with a single cause. It’s a group of diseases associated with error in different aspects of our DNA that control how cells divide and replicate. These errors can happen by mistakes occurring when cells divide, by environmental factors, or be inherited from your parents.

A universal cure would be virtually impossible as there is no universal cause or development of cancer itself.

They did not develop these types of treatments from first principles. We developed vaccinations over hundreds of years of observation and trial and error. The treatment was utilized before we really knew how or why they worked.

This is just absolutely false… In the last 60 years survival rates for breast cancer went from 24% to 77%, bone marrow cancer from 10-20% to 70%, leukemia from 14% to 65%… Nearly any cancer you can think of the survival has doubled to tripled
