    The Nov 12-13 Leonids meteor shower of 1833, which was said to have been measured in excess of 100,000 meteors viewed per hour (about 27+ per second). This obviously was profound to basically everyone alive at the time who could see it (it wasn’t visible in Europe), and honestly it just sounds cool. I wanna see the insane space fireworks!

      Ooh, what about one of the supernovas:

      SN 1006 (The Brightest)

      • Date: April 1006
      • Brightness: Reached a magnitude two or three times brighter than Venus, casting shadows on Earth.

      SN 1054 (The Crab Nebula Creator)

      • Date: July 1054
      • Brightness: Visible in broad daylight for 23 days and stayed glowing in the night sky for nearly two years.
