In my case, the self proclaimed “grown up” people my age are busy:

• taking hard drugs
• binge drinking
• not saving money, burning through parents cash
• investing in literally “shitcoins” for the thrill of it then turning around to criticise people for playing videogames
• binging on dopamine from vanity gym-ing
• driving very fast sometimes under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• spamming AI generated slop images in Instagram groupchats
• constantly cyver bullying each other (don’t ask me to explain why)

GenZ has a having fun problem. When people take up normal healthy hobbies like climbing or knitting, the boomers and Gen-Xers at mainstream cable news publish stories making fun of them essentially decrying “have we failed them??”

We’ve ended up with part of the generation focused on their own survival, and the other part are busy chasing the traditional road-well-travelled that boomers set out; basically conversion therapy to bring them into the folds of thrill-seeking capitalist dictatorship. As with the Boomers before them, these Gen Zs believe they are being “rebellious” and “individualistic” when they go down this road.
