I agree that we should accept this. We should accept that these people need mental health help. I dont think anyone can argue that this is a healthy thing, having a “relationship” with an LLM in general, I mean. That includes people in “romantic relationships” with one.
Oh I don’t think it’s healthy at all. On the other hand, loneliness isn’t healthy either. A lot of the people who seem to fall for this sort of stuff, seem to have mental health issues that keep them from connecting with others. So I don’t think this is any worse.
I find it strange, but live and let live is my motto.
I wanna be clear I’m not suggesting we ostracize people who do this or anything. However, I think it is important that it is communicated that this is not healthy behavior and people who experience it, should be encouraged to seek mental health help.
