If you aren’t looking for a daily, you can also just buy an external hard drive or two and rotate them manually from time to time. That’s my setup I have an external that auto backs up daily and then every couple of weeks I bring the cold storage drive over and rsync it.
Since I visit the location that I store the cold drive in every couple of weeks, I just plan it for when I’m there.
price wise that route would be looking at roughly 40-80 USD a drive vs cloud solutions which would be 3-10$ a month. so it would pay for itself in 8-16 months depending on drive cost
I used to do this when I commuted to my employer’s office on a regular basis. Volume is encrypted ofc.
I’ve gone to relying on Cloud now that I WFH.
