      While this is a wild thing to find out, this photo doesn’t look at all this decade, and also it looks like she’s playing it, not using the camera.

        How so? The only thing that hints at dating this photo at all to me is the phone that the kid has in the foreground. It does not look like there is a physical home button, which puts it in the “kids using a DSi camera at concerts” era.

        also it looks like she’s playing it, not using the camera.

        She is obviously not actively snapping a photo here, but she very well may be reviewing a photo that she just took or something. Sure, it is possible that she may be playing a game, but I think it is more likely that she is using the camera.

          That phone looks remarkably like Samsung Galaxy S3 (a phone from 2012), which definitely had a physical home button. It was also an actual button, unlike the stupid capacitive touch buttons to either side of it.

          In addition to what others said:

          • her holding the device (phone?) horizontally is a giveaway that this is from another time. Which (young) person does that anymore?
          • the way she holds it gives strong 3DS vibes.
          • Also the geometry of the device does not seem to be a flat rectangle like most smartphones but something that folds (like a 3DS?)
