Both GOG and Steam are tied near the top of the list with 9/10 scores.

But I should mention that since the chart was made specifically for my own personal use, it may not be the best for public use (which is why I haven’t posted it online anywhere). If I am to have it posted anywhere, I’d want to make some adjustments like giving certain categories more weight and expanding some others, maybe even add more. I probably wont though, as I’m just one person and I know for sure that my own biases will get in the way.

Isn’t that how all good charts start out? One opinionated person makes a list of what makes sense to them and maybe attaches a methodology for how they arrived at the order or points.

In my book, GOG would be 10, but I have never purchased a game through them, so it seems they’re not perfect after all. I wanna give steam less points cuz they are only dealing in licenses, so besides Gabe & SteamOS, they feel no better than Epic.

So maybe Steam is a 7 for me, and GOG is only ideally a 10, but in reality I paid them as much as I have Epic ($0).

I’ve done it. I’ve create my website and finished creating the page dedicated to game and app stores. It took longer than I was expecting but it’s in a good enough shape that I can fix any issues with it and add some more stuff to it tomorrow. I’ve also changed how I rated every app store, GOG is now 13/15 and Steam is 12.5/15. Here’s the link to the home page. I’m going to bed now.

            Dang, awesome list!!

You made me want to check out rawg.io, but it’s throwing a cloudfare error 😅!

I like how you break out the point categories, but I don’t understand what you were doing with the stars (they seem to appear randomly).

Thanks for the hollar! I checked it out and it reminded a of a long-lost website called videoeta.com. It basically listed the planned dvd/br releases for any upcoming movies.

I think I like rawg. I just learned there’s a new God of War in the pipes! I’m guessing rawg isn’t a distributor, but that wasn’t clear, even though you clearly mention it above that section. I think the same scoring method sent me for a trip (no shade, just thought I’d give my 2 cents).

Oh yeah, RAWG is just a game recommendation platform but it’s great because it’s completely community managed, meaning that if there are games missing or games that have missing/incorrect information, you can add/change it yourself. It’s also not limited to just one system or app store, in fact, the very first game I ever reviewed on RAWG was Super Mario 64.

Also, for some reason your comment reminded me that I’m aware of Moby Games, which is just a game database that’s somewhat similar to but quite different from GameFAQs, you’ll understand if you use it. But I’ve added it to my website and, based on how I’ve been scoring these websites, it has a 14/15 score. I can’t believe I forgot about Moby Games since it’s such a solid platform for finding games to play and I’ve had an account there for several years now. Obviously, RAWG is still better overall but Moby Games will be better for when I’m trying to find retro games to play, since RAWG mostly just recommends me newer games and I sometimes like to play older games.

Also yeah, RAWG has been down for a few days now. There is a possibility that it may shut down soon. From what I understand, it’s been almost completely abandoned by it’s owners for years now, which is unfortunate because it is a great platform.

I mentioned it at the top of the page, if you hover your mouse over them (only works on PC from what I remember) you’ll get an explanation for that tile. I should probably make that clearer since I did kind of bury that in the paragraph at the top of the page.

I guess your right, I might relearn HTML so I can open another website through neocities. I used to maintain a website under a different name there but I deleted it, thinking that I wouldn’t use it again. I would just post it to Odysee (the Youtube alternative) since they have more than just videos but I don’t know if they’d allow me to link to websites like Nutaku.
