A few weeks ago, I posted about a memory of a tv show I had when I was younger, and to my surprise, we got a positive identification of what it was. That incident brought back memories of other fragments of tv shows I remember seeing once, but since they were shows I didn’t watch regularly (usually they were just playing in the background and I would look up and sort of watch parts of the episodes), and one of the most vivid ones that I cannot find, I will be asking about today.

The basic premise of this show was that it was a hybrid of live action and cartoon (not uncommon in the era of kids shows that we are looking at tbf). I think that the main character was a cartoon, but everyone else was live action. Remember those shows like Art Attack where the show would have fictionalised elements but then there would also be more realistic elements where the host of the show would go out and interview real people (not sure Art Attack is the best example tbf)? This show had that sort of premise, only that it was edited to make it look like the cartoon character was conducting the interviews.

Now the specific episode I remember was themed around twins. I remember that the story was the main cartoon character had an evil twin (also cartoon animated) and the main cartoon character went out and interviewed these twin girls. I think he asked them each to think of a number and then to say it out loud, to test whether it was true that twins thought alike, or something. The episode ended with a ‘to be continued’ screen and the main cartoon and his evil twin both groaned that the episode ended on a cliffhanger (if I remember correctly, the evil twin broke out into a comically bad song with lyrics like ‘I just hate it when they do that’ or something like that.)

Now before I finish, I’ve asked this question on other forums before, so I want to rule out some common suggestions that definitely are not the show:

• The Stanley Dynamic: American show, definitely not this one. It’s the wrong era first of all, and secondly it doesn’t appear that any episode of it was remotely like what I remember.
• ROY: Irish show, similar main character, but completely different in format, premise, etc.
• Andy’s Dinosaur Adventure: I didn’t think I’d have to explain why it couldn’t possibly be this one, but despite that people have suggested it in the past (off the same description mind you) so I’ll just state it clearly here just in case anyone is tempted: it is not this one.

The show I remember, I saw it around the late 2000’s/early 2010’s, and wherever it is from originally, it must have at least been broadcast in the UK around that time, if not having been a UK made show in the first place. Also, I’m fairly sure it was broadcast on CBBC (I could be wrong though, but I remember a CBBC show came on straight after it, unless someone flipped the channel, but I don’t think they did)
