I was seeing articles on p.d about a month ago saying so. I’m having trouble finding them now. Maybe I misremembered but I’m like 90% certain they did.
Hey, I’m also ArsonButCute@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Made by. They link futo.org as their ‘company’ on the immich website. It’s open source so if you really want to use it there’s nothing wrong with forking it.

Never seen that list, but that’s a good resource for keeping track of these orgs.

Nextcloud certainly can be a cumbersome beast. I’m glad it’s the second thing I chose to selfhost instead of something much later on. Gave me a chance to get my feet wet with it. I’m a big fan, but I think if I’d started with smaller services I’d be upset about the breadth of the project. It is absolutely trying to do everything it can, which can be good or bad depending on your use case.

<political> Immich is made by futo, an org who just donated a couple mil to a fash dev to maintain some vibecoded post install scripts. Nextcloud does everything Immich does through some extensions available in their marketplace. Don’t support fash soft. Use eurojank instead! <\political>

I come from a taker culture. I’m doing my best to unlearn and be a leaver. It starts (to me) with the recognition that the way I have been living is a way uncooperative with nature, and incompatible with sustainability. I’ve been growing more spiritual, not to pacify myself but to take time to give thanks to the world for what it has given me. I drive less than I used to, opting to cycle or walk most of the time.
I think it’s safe to say I’m still a taker (I mean hell I live on stolen Diné land), but I’m doing my best to learn to not be. As soon as I can, I plan to leave this place, it can’t sustain a population like this and I can’t in good conscience contribute to it’s destruction.
If ape fling poo in city, ape get arrested too. To free one’s mind from the shackles of society, does not free them from the consequence of interacting with it.
Makes me think of how I recently read Ishmael and it literally changed my life. I understand now. I am ape. Do as ape do.
There’s like, a lot more than that, but that was my biggest takeaway (which would probably make the author very sad given what the book was actually about)
I haven’t personally used it but librephotos looks promising
