I was just looking through some old programs on my computer, and I came across Warp Pipe. I believe it was a third-party app that allowed internet play of Mario Kart: Double Dash. That port on the GameCube could be used to connect two systems locally, and play up to 8 players in a race. I’m not sure what other uses it had. This app somehow allowed it to work online! I only had a brief time with it and don’t remember much other than it might have been a choppy experience, but I did just run across that file and it brought back the memory, along with your post!

Plus, I wish they’d revive Chibi-Robo!!

I’ve seen yard signs related to data center push back near me. It’s anecdotal, but I’ve heard others speak about the cameras around here in negative ways (it was at a haircut!). It seems subdued, but I suspect there’s much more on people’s minds, they just aren’t letting it be known.

That’s good to hear some items have returned. I also wonder about things like relistings, if items have or will get moved around. Good discussion!

This led to a lot of good discussion around various places to buy digital music. My comment wasn’t so much drm focused as it was about licenses being removed. I’ve encountered that on Qobuz actually. Not many, but a few items are no longer available to be downloaded. I have already downloaded the files when I purchased the music, so that’s certainly something different than a movie or game that can’t be downloaded and used as such. That’s all, just the fact that the license can still be removed.

That’s just too funny

I found Thanksgiving in a grocery store or two the other week, but wow. It’s a weird feeling to see it and then think the stuff in between somehow matters less. Maybe others don’t have that thought. It’s just depressing to see, or, mildly infuriating.
