Don’t let PETA form your opinions. Plenty of good honey out there. Look for actual local beekeepers (not people selling ‘locally bottled honey’ because many of those are just buying mass market honey and rebottling locally). I wish that wasn’t a thing but it is.

Who is out there killing the bees to harvest the honey? That’s not how it works and makes no sense.

Also, ‘replace the honey with sugar water’? Yes, sometimes bees get additional sugars, but they aren’t “replacing honey”.

This reads like someone who got some information and then extrapolated their own details to fit their preconceived agenda.

For the record, I’m a fan of the bees. Vegetarian since the 90s. And I’m 100% against spreading false or misleading information.

Every interview: “oh great! You have a lot of manager experience! We’ve been looking for somebody with those skills!”

Me: “I’m not really looking to be in charge of people. I find the generational differences too tiring. I can’t relate and I’m tired of having to tell children to put away their phones.”

Got stopped by a rando while trying to build up the courage to jump. Told him that my car was broken down and that’s why I was stopped in the middle of the bridge in pouring down rain.

He got out and offered to help me, despite the fact that it was 3AM and the rain was coming down hard.

Awkward.

The car of course started just fine and I thanked him and continued my drive home.

I doubt he had any idea the difference he made.
