Yeah even without AI and CGI at this point nothing on a screen is real anymore. We stopped having a 1:1 conversion of a photon hitting a media quite a while ago.

When you take a pic with your phone it’s already digitally filtered and processed even before you start removing a trash can or an random person with AI.

What is even real at this point? You can’t trust anything that’s not real world meatspace any more.

I used to clench up in public bathrooms if there was anyone else in the bathroom.

Now I just let 'er rip. Even if I know it’s gonna be loud and funky.

That’s the rub. They don’t even say “we are cutting workforce to invest in AI”, they say “we are cutting workforce because we’ve already replaced people with AI”, which they have not. They’re just such hype driven buffoons that they actually believe that LLMs are going to easily replace the people they just cut in their hubris.

Saying they’ve cut people to invest in AI is actually a little more honest because it admits that they haven’t actually already succeeded.
