Now, you may be wondering what the button does if you don’t have a subscription? Unfortunately, it also tried to bury the fact that this Game Chat feature will actually require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription once the free trial period ends on March 31, 2026.
Was not this already known after the release of Switch 2? I can vaguely remember people complaining that you needed an subscription to use the particular feature and if they did not, the button was just… an useless button.
This is why I emulate games and just use Linux
I too emulate Switch 1 games but unfortunately, Switch 2 games cannot be emulated yet.
Why should we? We can enjoy the games and ignore Nintendo’s console. Why should we stop enjoying something that we like?
And why is it hypocrisy for still wanting to play these games, enjoying them and emulating them? Most what you read are people complaining (or as you call it ‘‘damn them’’) about the prices point, Nintendo’s behavior and their policies. The exclusive games are pretty great and that shows with the fan-base and the amount of people emulating them. If the prices were decent, they had normal behavior and policies. More people would’ve bought the console and less likely to emulate.
But Nintendo decided to be one of the greedy and ‘evil’ ones. I mean, they went after Palworld, emulation makers and random people for ‘naming their supermarket Super Mario’: Nintendo Loses ‘Super Mario’ Trademark Fight With Grocery Store. They could’ve just collaborated with the supermarket and enjoy the double marketing but no.
Your comment just sounds that you do not like people who emulate because ‘‘these people complain about something valid, refuse to pay money but still enjoy gaming’’.
