On the one night of the year that it isn’t suspicious at all to go walking around wearing a mask the whole time. Smart.

And please leave your phone and other devices at home if you’re doing this. Flock cameras detect and track nearby phones.
We’re not looking for artisanal “did you make sure to reset your phone” style dialogue.
If I’m calling support, we’re already way past that already anyway. Yes, I’ll need to talk to an actual human expert who can figure this out.

Why the fuck would I want ear cameras?

It could be made to work, yes … but it’s not really optimal and I don’t see any way it’s better than other already-existing designs.

There’s a reason virtually every aircraft with embedded VTOL jets engineered ways to cover them up during level flight.
Or ways to pivot them to horizontal and use them for forward thrust…
But, honestly, I think ones like OP’s could work relatively well if you engineered the hell out of the aerodynamics and made sure that the openings would be inside slipstream ‘shadows’ and not exposed to much airflow while in forward motion. That could only be well-optimized for one airspeed, though, so it wouldn’t be practical for an aircraft that wants to fly at different speeds a lot. But for one intended to always cruise at a set speed, I think it could work.
Other criticisms are still totally valid, though.
The 90s weren’t awesome – they just didn’t suck. (For most people.)
What do you expect, listening to music from the previous century?
Yeah. Just a single vast expanse of ocean that makes the modern-day Pacific look small and cramped. Just think how lonely it would be in a boat on the other side of the earth…
Oh, and the hurricanes will be absolutely gargantuan sometimes, having such a large ocean to strengthen over before finally hitting land.
Or, just use them while not stealing anything. Have fun evacuating the whole store (leading to lots in lost profits) because, “Oops, I didn’t read the sign”.

He always wanted to go to Mars. Let’s not turn him back on until we’ve got a sustainable Mars colony up and running. He’ll be thrilled!

You need to learn the ways of the dumpster:
A) Find the good dumpsters. Some grocery stores have ‘compost only’ dumpsters, and those are an absolute gold mine. Those ones will be full of food and only food.
B) Of course you need to wash everything thoroughly before eating it. And don’t take (unwrapped, unsealed) things that can’t be washed.
C) Follow your nose. Billions of years of evolution have actually equipped you pretty well when it comes to determining which food is and isn’t safe to eat. If it looks good and smells good, it probably is good. Add a bit of common sense and looking out for signs of a few of the more dangerous things – like botulism – and you’re pretty well safe. Also pay attention to recent recalls – if the store is throwing away lots of the same thing, and none of it is expired yet, check for recalls on that product before eating it. (And look at why it was recalled. Recalled stuff is sometimes still perfectly safe to eat. Lots of recalls happen for reasons such as the product being mislabeled and not mentioning an allergen that might be present. In that case, as long as you’re not allergic to that particular thing, you’re good.)
I’ve never once gotten sick from eating dumpster food. IMO, unless you have some specific health condition that puts you at higher risk, you’re very unlikely to have problems.

But, also, beef is pretty much the worst meat when it comes to environmental impact of producing it. So it probably should be the most expensive.

and unfortunately most fresh produce at this point
Special secret: grocery store dumpsters are often full of perfectly good fresh produce – and I mean full. And in most states, it’s perfectly legal to take some. Learn the ways of the dumpster, and you’ll eat like a king.

presume the plan is for the battle net app to act as a pseudo discord app and let you control everything on your discord account through it.
Yeah, to me that sounds like what’s going on. They’re trying to implement a Discord client within their game, and to really do that successfully, it needs permissions to do all the Discord things.

I feel like im a special snowflake virtually immune to ads.
For the most part, I don’t even see ads at all.
The only ones I might be exposed to at all are:
-
Disguised Lemmy posts pretending to be normal users.
-
Billboards and other signs on the side of the road.
-
Product placement in a game, TV show, or movie.
Every other kind of ad has basically zero chance of ever even reaching my eyeballs.
-
Good thing the studio will never need to build another game in the future, right?
