I feel like there’s a 99% chance it’s all vibe coded slop

I don’t really get how frame generation works, but at what point are you extrapolating so much that it gets out of sync with the gameplay? Surely there’s a limit…
This isn’t a thing where I live but I wish it was!

I’m biased cause I grew up there, but western Washington is very nice.

I see a lot of dumb or reactionary comments all over, but the most truly “what’s wrong with” ones? Here, unfortunately 😅

Asklemmy is content, ngl. Some of the most unhinged stuff gets posted on there.

When I see a YouTube video I remember watching that’s like 18 years old or something

When I was a fresh young adult I went on a college trip. There were a lot of Greek lifers on it, and I hadn’t really experienced that before. I was kind of feeling jealous of how much they hung out and how tight they seemed and told one of my friends about it.
She said, “they’re just friends you pay for” and that really stuck with me.
For me it was ps1, but Threads of Fate
Hell yeah I have a fond memory of this one too

Considering how hard it was for me to find one small enough last time, we’ve already gone past it years ago

I have a pretty similar story except game design is my passion, and graphic design is the day job.
For a long time I wanted to make games professionally, and I’ve worked towards it for years, even releasing a game I made with a few friends in our spare time.
I’ve had some realizations lately though, that the closer making games becomes to a job, the less fulfilling it is for me. I’m starting to think I might prefer it as a passtime where I can make whatever interests me instead of trying to turn art into products.
Every job has shitty parts, which don’t necessarily exist when it’s a hobby. For games and for me personally, it’s was all the marketing and strategy around trying to get eyeballs on your stuff. I hate that part and I’m not good at it. I learned that the hard way with my released game, which very few people played even though I’m quite proud of it. It’s just really hard to get noticed as a small creator with no budget.
No real advice in here for you necessarily. I just see a lot of the same yearnings and frustrations in this that I’ve felt and it connected with me. Hopefully this is some food for thought at least.

Vulnerability is not a weakness. It’s the opposite. It shows you have the courage to open up to people.
Even if it’s good, at this point the hype has reached such ludicrous levels there’s no way it could compete with it’s own image

You might like Adam Conover. He mostly does interviews on his show called Factually, but he is a comedian by trade so it has that vibe.

I get people disliking corporate shill or scam accounts, but can we please not bring back the reddit thing where self promotion is universally shit on?
I looked at the app and this guy appears to be a small creator. I speak from experience when I say getting noticed as a small creator is really really hard.
If you don’t want to look at it, move on. Do we really need to shutdown someone down just for putting their work out there? 🫤
I had no idea so much had happened around that parcel of land
Oh no, not Etc!
So does the rock itself disintegrate on impact or is it under the crater?
