Yeah, a good number of Democratic voters fit your profile, but there’s another significant number (including yours truly) who’ve only voted for them for lack of choice, and in an attempt to keep the even worse candidate from winning. Just because we have no choice doesn’t mean we actually want who we wind up having to vote for.

I’m well aware, and agree the mainstream Dems of today are effectively right-wing without quite so much totalitarianism, but there’s a growing number of progressives who have been making quite a few waves this year. In the USA, conservative “leaders” are typically control freak bullies who want a population that is easy to manipulate, which is why they prefer most of their constituents be less educated so they don’t realize how much BS they’re being fed until it’s too late. They are the same in every country, regardless of what name they go by.
