Former head chef: Yes. Our pastry chef was the alchemist and I was the magebomb.

Interesting. Apparently the criticism is that he never swallows. But I did a quick search and found this: https://www.wired.com/story/this-streamer-has-convinced-the-internet-guy-fieri-never-swallows-food-on-diners-driveins-dives/
As critics of the conspiracy theory were quick to point out, some of this sleight-of-fork is to be expected in the production of DDD. Fieri visits lots of restaurants in a short span of time and can’t eat full meals at all of them. Sometimes a second or third (or tenth) take is necessary, and it’s not practical to take a new bite for each. Certain editing choices are no doubt for the sake of continuity and flow: does the audience really want or need those few extra seconds of awkward silence as Fieri finishes chewing a morsel of barbecued meat and gulps it down?
Others simply disputed the accusation that Fieri is faking it. “Not true,” Joe Sasto, a chef who has competed on a Food Network Tournament of Champions series hosted by Fieri, commented on the Doctor Spaghetti video that ignited the no-swallow controversy. “I’ve filmed plenty of shows with him. He eats EVERYTHING.”

I alternate between different ones every year. I just tried to find my favorite olive oil soap recipe but I’m only getting AI slop results. Silly me for not bookmarking. The best one I found was basic cold process recipe that only uses olive oil, lye and water. If you’re searching, the one I like recommends using a milk carton for the mould and letting the soap sit for a week before slicing, then letting it cure for 60 days. The ratio of ingredients should all be the same across good recipes. I don’t trust the slop.
Otherwise I used meltable glycerine soap base I used to get from a place called The Soap Dispensery in Vancouver. Doesn’t seem like they sell it since I moved, so I can’t tell you what was in it. To the melted glycerine I would add jojoba oil, shea butter, vitamin E, tea tree oil, charcoal and cedar essential oil. I like woodsy, herbal scents.
Sometimes, if I plan ahead, I’ll dehydrate lemon and lime rinds into crumbly bits to add for texture and exfoliation. Other times I use coffee grounds.
Another time my niece mixed in vanilla, mandarin and rosemary for the scents, it was a hit with everyone. Smelled like a healthy orange cream pop.
It’s a shame because waterworld absolutely holds up and I will die on this hill.

Totally. Once a year I make a huge batch with all the things I like and none of what I hate. I give out a bunch for Christmas and have enough to last me the rest of the year.
Occasionally I’ll dig out my supplies mid-year for something special or to make soap with friends, then I just have extra.
It was easy to learn and the costs were worth it.

People make fun of him but he’s just a happy dude who likes food.
Most of them don’t, in my experience. Experience which stems from a game I made up called “See how many rooms you can get into before someone kicks you out of the building.” We had a better name for it but I forgot, it’s been a while since I had enough people to play with.

Buy someone’s leg.
Same here. I’m glad it allows for growth and forks rather than a collapse when schisms occur. It’s why I keep saying I don’t like piefed, but I’m happy it’s there.
It depends on your values and what kind of experience you want. For me, I couldn’t find a piefed instance that met all my criteria.
I wanted no instances blocked, no flagged users for low karma (I didn’t want karma to matter at all,) able to see greentext communities (4chan screenshots are blocked on some, if not all piefed instances,) and be able to see the modlog.
Piefed has additional features that lemmy lacks, like following individual users and multi-coms, but it wasn’t enough to get me to switch.
I like the openness of the lemmyverse, since there’s more room for individuality between the instances without a developer ideologically holding the reins, though I’ve heard Rimu has walked back their more controversial decisions. For all the criticisms of ML and Grad, the developers affiliations don’t pollute the wider fediverse.
Whichever you choose, make sure you look into the instances as well, since they have unique features, blocklists, and supports for apps.
There are infinite possibilities when you have a real human leg.
