Only time you would catch me at the big M is when they advertise $1 ice coffee or $2 smoothie or $1 cone for summer.
No price stability means no reason to go.

We very nearly live in a post scarcity world too. Just all our resources and labor are funneled into the hands of a few wealthy billionaires.
Star Trek is very Utopian. If it operated anything like our dystopian world it would have a lot of scarcity. For instance there is only one earth in Star Trek.
In our timeline it is most billionaires goal to own the whole planet. Then after that 2 planets then hundreds of planets then 1000s of galaxies.
Sounds like a very mild case of “billionaire syndrome”
If a billionaire bought a ticket to the Powerball lottery and won they would attribute that win to their superior “genius”, “work ethic” and deep strategy.
It’s people like the ATC’s who run America. You are talking about the owner class who sit on their verandas drinking ice cold lemonade shouting “whip them harder and they’ll get more work done”
It’s not about absolutes. Speeding laws don’t stop speeders, obviously. But we still have them and many people drive slower with the threat that they may have to pay a ticket or might lose their license.
Also there is a real world that exists outside the internet and people and corporations can be coerced by the government if it wills it.
Not stopping the government all over the world from putting age gates on the internet.
Hate speech is also information. Also all information on the internet is tracked anyways. Even Al Capone was arrested for tax fraud.
Tech companies still have to pay taxes, meet health and safety standards, have vacation pay etc
We don’t live in a libertarian wet dream
Perfection is the enemy of the good. Who is saying all AI must be eliminated? If all AI can’t be eliminated does that mean we must have no regulation at all?
Last time I checked guns, cigarettes, alcohol and cars still exist.
Yet you get penalised if you are caught driving drunk. You aren’t allowed to drive unless you are over 16 and pass a test. We don’t advertise cigarettes or sell them to kids and you can’t smoke in hospitals.
Do you really need to ask the question why people that are being opressed are concerned about their oppressors gaining more powerful tools of oppression?
Might as well walk up to a slave in the 1800s and say “why are you so worried about that big shipment of new enhanced whips and chains that just arrived? They are just tools that make the farm more productive and more food and cotton are only be a good thing”
Don’t worry they will soon be instituting klarma so you can amortize your Big Mac into a 6 month payment plan.
