…or whatever meal it is. Is it something magnificent you made at home? Is it Spaghettios? A gas station burrito? Take out/delivery from a local place?
Honestly asking to see if I can get some new ideas for food to take to work.

I am way too lazy to cook everyday, but getting even fast food every day is expensive as fuck. So the compromise is to meal prep so I only need to cook twice a week, and lately I’ve been making these homemade Chipotle burrito bowls to bring to work for lunch. The cost of the ingredients is somewhere around $23ish which is little bit over a single meal from Chipotle, but makes enough for 5 meals
Recipe? 🧐
I mostly just wing it but this is usually how it goes. Obviously you can add, remove, or substitute whatever you want
Prep: Slice a lime in half and chop up a bundle of cilantro (no idea what size or weight)
Meat and bean: Heat a pan to low-medium/medium heat, put in some oil and a pound of ground beef or chicken. Season with taco seasoning and let it cook. Stir it every now and again to break it up. Once the meat is almost cooked all the way, add in one drained can of black beans (15oz I think?) and season the meat and bean mix with onion and garlic powder. Cook until it looks like food.
Salsa: In a bowl mix a bag of thawed frozen corn (10ish oz.), a drained can of diced tomatoes and green chilies (also 10ish oz.), half of the chopped cilantro, and squeeze in the juice of half the lime. Season with salt and pepper.
Rice: Cook a cup and a half of rice, and once done mix with the rest of the cilantro and the juice from the other half of the lime.
Portion the meat/bean, salsa, and rice into 5 containers and top off with some shredded sharp white cheddar cheese.
Thanks for the details, I’m gonna try this.
