Circumstance.
If you’re constantly going in/out, it’s a waste of time.
And honestly it doesn’t make any difference for me - my carpets get just as dirty just as fast whether I take shoes off or not.
I still take them off, but since I clean the carpets I know exactly how little difference it makes. It’s a “feel good” exercise in my house.
You view cleanliness as a waste of time. That’s disgusting.
Clearly your don’t live somewhere with snow or sand or dirt
Waste of time and cleanliness don’t get align though. It must be cultural then. I just cannot even think about how it would be so dirty wearing shoes in the house. In Eastern culture, the home should be clean and not a place you would enter with your shoes on.
