Shoe then shoe. I generally don’t wear socks because I am always wearing dress flats for work, and they are comfy enough for weekends too.

    Obviously sock sock, shoe shoe.

Because you grab your pair of socks from the drawer, unroll them, put one on, then you’re still holding a second sock… It would be madness to just put down the sock you’re already holding.

Finally, shoes, you left them… in some room in the house. Go find them.

I can do you one better about shoes. Despite my room being relatively clean, I still manage to lose my shoes. Otherwise, 100% agree.

Those two activities are unrelated to me. sock/sock after the shower, shoe/shoe before leaving the dwelling.

Want to weigh in with one more sock/shoe situation: when I’m in the changing room at the pool and the floor around me is wet from me dripping all over, there is no other place to put a socked foot down, so it goes straight into the shoe.

Sock shoe for me. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. There’s no amount of sweeping and two Roombas that gets all the hair, even with hardwood flooring.

In most cases socks then shows. My shoes are by the door so it doesn’t make sense to do anything else; shoes are gross and not wearing them inside is better.

Exception: I injured my back and doing sock+shoe was easier but, still, by the door

sock/sock shoe/shoe because I put in my socks in the bedroom but don’t put in my shoes until I get to the closet by the front door.

Anyone wearing one sock and shoe with one fully naked foot is either deeply deranged or some kind of alien pod person. It is a pale approximation of human behavior. Unless you are stumbling away from a grenade attack or something, there is no reason to ever exist like that, even momentarily.
