If you say anything even slightly anti-America on Lemmy, it will get upvotes. Ironically, upvotes are practically worthless, but some people seem to enjoy the validation from strangers on social media.
Completely unrelated anti-America shit will be brought up all the time and upvoted. The unrelenting America-hate on this website is exhausting.
It’s the only thing I like about Reddit better than Lemmy. The people on here are so dramatic. At least the bots on Reddit have the ethos turned down.
