Also once you buy a game you can play it basically forever. I finally upgraded to a PC powerful enough to play Crysis, but I didn’t even need to repurchase it after all these years.
PlayStation store, you often need to rebuy all your games each generation. I remember being really annoyed when I went PS3 -> PS4 with no backwards compatibility. Never bought another console since then, dunno what the situation is like now.
Yeah, decades of compatibility PC games have across hardware over the years is hard for consoles to match.
Even when they have backwards compatibility they are stuck to the performance and resolution cap from the previous gen if the devs didn’t go back to improve it like Red Dead Redemption 2 still being capped at 30. Or Bloodborne.
