Paradise Lost by Milton is probably the place to start
I took an entire semester long class on paradise lost, can’t recommend it enough! There’s a reason they say “Milton was of Lucifer’s side without realizing it”, the guys said his goal in writing it was to justify God’s actions to mankind. Definitely doesn’t read that way!
