Ya this is a weird one (to me). I would think most dog people of the time thought so, as well. I don’t remember learning about domesticated anything in terms of evolution, not so long after this.
Check out how almost all the produce we eat today looked drastically different only a couple thousand years ago or so. It’s crazy how much man has engineered (well, selectively bred) all that.
