Game is a blast for a political sim. Actually challenging depending on what kind of utopia you are aiming for. Reminded me of the first time I played “Democracy” but I actually found the political capital resource a bit more rewarding in this one. Other differences are more obvious, like the obvious leftist bent and the policy being more global then state focused.

Also it was free!

sometimes my phone browser does weird things with the game open but it either puts me back at a save checkpoint or goes right back where I left off and I really appreciate that

now my appetite has been whet for browser games i can play on my phone

Got pretty far, surprised that I got a “me and the environmentalists failed to make the world a better place” picture at the end, given I had negative emissions, an ecstatic populace, and a message about how biodiversity was healing or something and Parliament trusted me completely by the time I died. Time to replay! Would get distracted from my life responsibilities again with this game.

spoiler speculations on why I got that picture

Global temperature was still +1.2C or something, and I didn’t finish the space upgrades. Will be back on my replay to see why!

EDIT: Okay, I got everyone ecstatic, global temperature +0.2C, negative emissions, biodiversity with two filled-in bars. Still could not finish space upgrades. Still gave me the “me and the environmentalists failed to make the world a better place” dialogue. I give up.

I don’t think the space upgrades are needed to “make the world a better place” both IRL and in game. The main focus is to save the earth.

I think now the goal is to have the temp increase under 1.0C, negative emissions, and biodiversity at the 1 bar. The tough thing is even though I keep replaying I cannot figure out how to get my temp under 1.0C. I pulled it off once and probably never again lol

Right?! I think I need more aggressive veganism rather than just meat cells because of the power usage. But you have to get negative green house gases for a while to get the temp to actually reverse.

I’ve been aiming for reasonable space myself which is crazy hard to get much of anything else so far

            Okay, I won.

I will say that I get negative carbon emissions at least before the halfway mark of my tenure, and the temperature does not go down enough for victory still.

spoiler on how I got the temperature down

I did the same as usual, except in my last years I did the Solar Radiation Management option that makes the Accelerationists like you. It has some negative side effects, but the worst ones will not show up because it dropped my temp and I won the game. That’s for my successor to deal with when the population gets mad and shoots down the planes doing the SRM and the temperature goes back up again :P

I feel like there has to be a “clean” way to lower the temperature, without using SRM at the end and leaving a mess for my successor, but hey.

            tips for your first paragraph

Get the big electricity upgrades and power just doesn’t matter. You can afford all the expensive Accelerationist production that is good for the land/water use efficiency, the animals, and emissions but a giant power draw then. Since it’s just drawing on all your green electricity it isn’t costing you fuel and making more emissions, or something like that.

I love this game. There’s a surprising amount of fun, and you can play it on almost any platform.

I have been looking for something like this. Started it and like the manage aspect. I like the intent, and a huge plus playing in a browser, available to almost everybody. I feel like this is the kinda thing that could be used to gather enough information to actually do something

Edit: alright it’s got depth and replayability. And a lot of words I’m going to need to look up

I didnt know it was browser based too until I made this post actually. It runs great on my steam deck, but the mobile browser experience is pretty good

Pretty fun! Damn ELF is tearing me up, I’m getting like 10 attacks per year. Why won’t people just chill and let their benevolent dictatrix help them ?

    Edit: ooh, metagame!

Oh yeah. ELF is always reforming for me too. Slow and steady isn’t what they are wanting lol

The meta game project is super fun kind of Easter egg
