I saw this interesting postmortem analysing what happened to the podcast.

I listened to every episode from beginning to end in real time and I’m still really annoyed at grey for ending it that way. I’ve really soured to him a lot over the last few years, down from one of my favourite online creators for many years.
There’s been a lot to come out where Grey wasn’t the best in a lot of business dealings/situations. For instance, Nebula would have been a lot worse if Grey was still in charge.
However, even with that, it is surprising how slow moving this self proclaimed efficiency except is.
That was an interesting watch, thanks for sharing! I had a laugh when he said the Flaggy Flag rebels now have control of the subreddit.
I agree with your frustration about how the podcast ended. I get that listeners weren’t owed anything and that it was a very Grey way to go, but it just felt rude. At least we got an official announcement when Cortex said Grey was going on hiatus (and one that every HI listener knew how to interpret), but the lack of videos on his main channel over the last year is just plain odd.
Nevertheless, I hope this is all simply Grey being impolite and not, like, health problems or anything.
I was a big fan of HI and Grey, until I started to notice that a lot of the stuff Grey talked about was a bit misleading or straight up wrong. Theres now quite a bit of “CGP Grey debunked” style videos by people who actually know their stuff, based on what those are saying, I have no interest in watching any more Grey content.

Oof, I always wondered if there were more things of his that were inaccurate.
What I caught was the hexagon video and his claim about triangles (combined to make hexagon) being the best for building rockets. I worked in the launch side of aerospace at the time, and true Atlas V and Delta IV were built with triangles… But only on their booster tanks. Their upper stages had a completely different design structure, as do Vulcan, Falcon 9, Starship, New Glenn, Electron, etc etc
Triangles were only used on Atlas V and Delta IV because CAD in the 90s didn’t do rectangles very well. That’s not a problem anymore, so triangles don’t get used
