I have to give it a go. I tried to start watching over piece years (decade?) ago, back when Ace was to be executed. I started from the beginning and it was a snore fest. Decided I’ll just skip the start and watch episodes as they come out. After spending what felt like an eternity watching Luffy run on ice I just gave up on the entire series because it felt like an episode worth of story was stretched to 5 episodes.
This was my experience as well, and I was watching while playing like Minecraft or dwarf fortress or something like that and it still felt like shit was taking forever to happen.
