Frankly I never questioned why there be monsters as marked.
This. They’re marked there cos that’s where they fricken’ are!
Always thought it was “because there’s room there and it looks neat.”
That’s what I’ve always done when I draw old maps. Hope I haven’t been doing it wrong this whole time.
one interesting reason is drew monsters where they didn’t want people to go like their fishing spots
(the monsters were an indication that the sea was dangerous there)
