Mistral requires play services.
Mistral is worse than others both in UI and UX.
Why would I?
You don’t need to use Google/Android, you chose to.
Where is the button for fdroid on their site? Or git, obtainium? Direct apk?
I dont use them or google. When I had mistral is kept opening and closing to flag no google services found.
f-droid, apk, all built on top of Google ruled tech. The problem is Android and the grip Google has on it.
Use the Web, or if you have the tech skills, other OS. Interacting with a model, is just text after all.
It’s a model, not an app, you can run it however you want
I think of Mistral as primarily making models for API use that you can use in all sorts of places. I didn’t even know they had an app. I think the app is probably mostly intended as an easy way to try out the models, not their main business.
I run Mistral on GrapheneOS without Play services.
