Artist, musical performer, and former derby skater from the Midwest.
I’m single, childless, and married to freedom and adventure.
ACAB, Anti-War, and I hate Democrats, Republicans, and billionaires. (Yes, even your favorite billionaire: the pop star, the philanthropost, the legendary athlete, or the soft-spoken investment guru who cosplays as middle class.) With each passing day I get a little closer to hating everyone.
Also, I refuse to use Donald’s last name out of hatred for the man and his brand, FYI.

My favorite thing about these super-specific gun laws is how we’re 50 fiefdoms where none of it is ultimately enforceable.
Americans do not give a fuck. We’re a violent people and if your kid gets hurt so we can have our toys, it’s a-okay.

I’d love to see some sort of general strike
Same. That’s part of why we’re 50 fiefdoms instead of a single country. Makes it way harder to organize as a people and much easier to divide.
Luckily I’ve kicked soda before, so kicking it when prices ratchet up wasn’t hard. It’s just a matter of halving your consumption for two weeks straight, after which point you don’t have any withdrawal symptoms and if it’s not in your house there’s no real temptation to drink it.

I’m in Missouri, but in a major city here, so there’s a big mix.
The inner-city is strongly liberal, as in we support our own taxation because we like the services liberal and even have a free commuter train line. The suburbs are deep, deep red, and they think they should dictate policy to us because they commute into the city often.

As I understand it, any and all “audits” and “guardrails” are all entirely internal to Flock and law enforcement themselves, and therefore, absolutely useless.
Like social media itself, it’s going to be up to the judiciary and civil lawsuits to fix this shit. (Though the widespread vigilantism is heartening.) I don’t think there will be any meaningful regulation until some cop somewhere deletes his entire family after using Flock to stalk and hunt them down. (And let’s be honest, here in the US even that might not be enough.)

Oh yeah. I work in legal tech, and out firm made our internal training on using these models scary as heck to give the associates and shareholders a proper perspective.
That said, we’re only using models that were trained on legal data, so there’s no shitposts from Reddit or FB or whatever to gum up the works, but we still require human validation and drastic consequences if people fail to do so and it’s found out.

The artists weren’t getting paid when you were using Spotify. The shareholders were.
If you want artists to get paid, you have to buy direct or support them indirectly via merch/tickets/buying streams, etc.

There used to be code in Grok that disallowed people from saying anything mean about Elon. Interesting.
But he is in the Epstein Files and we know he visited the island, so it’s not unlikely.

Everyone I know who’s tried it tells me that big corporate brands and their slop / astroturfed content is why Bluesky is less enjoyable. Haven’t myself, as I’m perfectly content on Mastodon and Lemmy, so I understand that’s anecdotal.
