Much of that red tape is there for good reason. It protects our natural resources and our citizens. I don’t disagree the US could do better, but things like environmental studies are important to ensure healthy growth, not just rapid. AI data center bullshit happening right now is a perfect example of the impact and destruction of steamrolling these things.

I think the bigger issue causing that is cameras on phones have devalued photographs in general. Many people really don’t understand what goes into the good photographs and think it’s as easy as their selfies. And it’s bullshit that people treat your wife that way.

Her phrasing of “you want to shoot for x money” is gatekeeping. You can’t have a hobby because I paid more money to do it professionally.

If she’s talking about people wanting to low ball her she would’ve said “a shoot” instead of “to shoot”. It’s also perfectly likely she just misspoke.

Just because it’s not an exact comparison doesn’t mean the analogy fails.

Man, that’s really impressive. i can’t get shit in that game done without cheaty mods. My best raw play through got me like 3 levels down. And another I got into a couple secreted areas where I faced immediate one shot death.

Used to use it pretty regularly. Especially for automating service tag retrieval. My main qualm with it was inconsistent use between manufacturers. Otherwise it was a nicely handy tool.

I get this is a shitposting sub, but just want to say to anyone thinking this way seriously, other people have lives too. They are absolutely likely to be doing other things and don’t have time or brain space to reply. If you can’t realize that you are being too self-centered in this case, it’s time to clue in.

MS just pushed their stupid OneDrive Photos as an update. I decided that’s my last straw. It was one thing when I could toggle AI off, but this trying to connect all my pics to contacts etc is too far. I’m done. I just wish Tuta Drive was ready for daylight. Probably going to ride Mega until it is.

I try to give them one chance. Sometimes I get pulled in deeper if I’ve got nothing better to do. But on the whole, respond with curiosity first. Then determine of they are worth your time. If not, ignore them and move on, interacting with those more worth your while while eye rolling the idiots.

Guess the best way is to not care much about what others think of you. Then, eventually, down votes and bad arguments made by morons really just don’t even bother you. Engage with better people, ignore the rest and chuck a down vote.

Draw firm boundaries with them on what they are allowed to say. If they say things you don’t like, verbalize it in some way. Start polite and move up from there. If they don’t stop, get HR involved for targeted harassment. I’ve had people that I had to tell “fuck off asshole” before they backed down. Most stop earlier though.

The other person mentioned the two main new games but I loved Old Blood as well. If you prefer more classical games or styles, Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a great one too.
