Typically, when someone tosses a “thought-terminating cliche” or “ultimate argument-ender” at you, it’s not because they think it’ll make them “win” the argument. It’s because they want to be done talking to you.

Legit might be the best segue from Marvel/DC movies; the setting is exactly based on (and highly cognizant of) American comic book heroes with a distinctly Japanese twist. All Might even serves as a genuinely fascinating portrait of what Superman might look like if he was just some human and not a practically immortal alien.

Hate to break it to you sport, but you’re the one who keeps coming back for more. The only one wasting your time here is you.
But please, don’t let me distract you from your “neighbour”; I’m sure they’re a real handful.

Lol you’re confronted with the fact that literally everyone disagrees with you and rather than accept the L and grow from it, your response is “well you’re all fascists anyway.”
I kinda thought you were trolling at first, but now I’m positive you’re seriousーyou can’t fake this level of insecurity. Don’t worry champ, you’ll grow out of it eventually.

Well, seeing as not a single person in this thread thus far has responded to you in a positive way, I probably do lol

Have you ever considered writing an encyclopedia? You have so much wisdom to share.

Am an American with a (remote) office job, can confirm. Not only do they make you take the classes, they make you retake them every year. I usually don’t mind though because it means I get to chill out and game for a couple hours while I let the videos play on mute.
- PoastRotato@lemmy.worldtoNo Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why do we punish people when nothing bad happened ?5·29 days ago
Imagine someone points a gun into a crowd, closes their eyes, and pulls the trigger, but the gun jams so no bullet is fired and everyone is fine. Do you think that person should be let off scot-free just because nothing bad happened?
- PoastRotato@lemmy.worldtoNo Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why are expressions like "women artists" or "women writers" used?0·2 months ago
To add on, I’ve found that referring to women as “females” in anything other than formal or scientific contexts has adopted something of a sour taste in recent years. The practice is often associated with incel/misogynistic behavior and ideology, probably because it implicitly strips women of their personhood and reduces them to their sex. Put another way, both a female dog and a female human could be called a “female”, but only one could be called a “woman”.
That’s my own two cents though, take them with a grain of salt.
Sure, if you want to see it that way. But considering they’ve gotten tired of having to listen to you and they still haven’t changed their minds on the subject, I don’t know if you could call that a victory on your part.
I don’t know you from Adam so maybe this take is off, but based on your post and your responses here, you seem somewhat more concerned with being right than actually getting people to be receptive to your ideas. I’d suggest reflecting on that if you really want to make a difference.
