ADD isnt in the class of “r-word” language at all, and i actually fullfill 9/9 of the medical criteria for diagnosing ADD, so it was the first thing i grabbed at because it is so relateable to my own life. It is increasing activity, not necessarily productivity. I see the issue that LLMs do not recognize and cannot communicate when they are missing necessary information to push the inference in the direction that is needed.

It’s a bit like when you go into a diner and order a chicken sandwich, and the cook has read every book containing a chicken sandwich recipe in the world, no common sense, no budget / time limits on getting ingredients and an attention deficit disorder. You will (most of the time) get something that resembles a chicken sandwich, but it will probably never be to your taste. A normal cook has a lot of real world context to make sure that the sandwich is tasty - he knows what area he works in and what a chicken sandwich in this area normally contains, he knows how different ingredients interact with each other, and he is limited to what is available in his kitchen. If he knows you personally, he will be able to fine-tune the sandwich to your taste.

LLM output does not have ANY of that context. Even things we do not actively think about - because it’s just the way how things are - are simply not available to an LLM. Only way to make sure our hypothetical ADD-ridden cook with eidetic memory makes a chicken sandwich worth a shit is to provide him with as much clear, non-ambiguous information as possible; and since the connection to the real world is missing, there can never be enough information - or rather, we are in the dark about what pieces of information would be needed to shift the probability towards the thing we actually want.

Combustion engines have maximum fuel efficiency at a specific RPM. A Hybrid has the advantage that you can run that engine at maximum efficiency 100% of the time and using the generated electrical energy to generate motion. The gains by being able to keep the ICE at peak efficiency are more than the loss you take from the conversion. That’s the same principle as in hybrid cars - look up Technology Connections video where he analyzes the behavior of his hybrid car. It is for sure preferable to than just the ICE directly, losing a lot of efficiency and therefor fuel because of differences in needed power output. Combining this into a plugin-hybrid makes - as you said - the takeoff use no or just the default amount of jet fuel at all.

This will not eliminate the need for jet fuel, but even a reduction is preferable to the status quo. Until we get batteries that are light enough while keeping energy density at least as high as now (preferably higher), purely electric long-range flight is not an option that’s available.

This is a futile approach. It has been shown again and again that watermarks can easily be removed by AI models that are widely and openly available. It is like a bandaid for a severed artery and only is useful to shield Anthropic from the wrath of the courts.

Simple fix: make these glasses only work as recording devices when every person in view has said “I consent to this interaction to be recorded”. Anyone else coming in - they shut off if they don’t consent within 10 seconds or so. Also, make activation of recording a voice command a la “I will now start recording if everyone consents”. If this isn’t loudly voiced, recording cannot start. All of this would make sure that only the really criminal elements would be able to use their devices “the pervert way” - and this should be punished hard by law.

I don’t think you will even need to type yourself. Tools removing the watermark will be available 3-4 days after this hits the market, fully able to be automated. Watermarks are not a solution that will prevent someone who wants to deceive you from doing so - only awareness that everything on the web is sus will.

Edit: The only alternative is an 100% digitally signature authenticated web, from the web login down to the posting. I am not sure this is a better way because it also means 100% transparency of everything someone does.

You all made some very good points, and I think the answer lies somewhere at the focal point of all your theories at once. It takes a special kind of mentality to start a project like this, and factors like pressure, emotional baggage and/or instability, narcissism, autism, ADHD all come together, explaining the exceptionally violent breakdowns we’re seeing in the solo dev field.

Well, there’s another one going down the deep end. Can anyone enlighten me why there are devs losing their minds on the regular and pulling everyone else into their shitshow? Most of the time those people are actually skilled, but something goes wrong and they become megalomaniac, believing they are the arbiter of truth and a gift from god we all should be thankful for while they pull more and more insane shit.
