I haven’t either. My area is very small and barely has any meshtastic activity, but from asking the couple people on meshtastic public channel it doesn’t sound like there’s a single meshcore user in our area either.

But the limited range and low bandwidth makes it ineffective at a large scale.

It is good enough to usually work at a city wide level and between people within walkie talkie range. It’s only ever meant for resilient local comms, it is not meant to be a state or even county wide system even with mqtt

Meshcore seems to be overtaking Meshtastic in adoption recently, and it handles long-haul router placement and high traffic, high density nodes a good bit better for metro areas.

The admitted benefit of the digital ones are accuracy. Mechanical pop out gauges, or even dial gauge styles, they have limited accuracy at pressure below their spec and obviously don;t work at all or will be damaged by pressure above their spec.
E.g, for the pop out gauges, you’ll usually see them sold in ranges of 5-30psi, 20-60psi, and 30-120 psi. 5-30 is good for lawn equipment, 20-60 for cars and light truck, 30-120 for heavy truck. A digital gauge covers all of them at once rather than needing 3 separate gauges banging around in the toolbox.
The digtial gauge can get you within 0.5psi while the mechanicals usually are within 2psi at best. And for big lawn or flotation tires that need like 3psi or less, forget it, you need digital, most mechanical gauges never even go that low…

They’re doing that anyway via the modem. Unless you are tunnelling everything your ISP sees every byte you send.

Ha, I’m not even an electrician, just autistic and really good at low voltage and automotive electrical. But sounds like you’re on the right track.

Pliers, wire stripper/crimper combo tool, a couple feet of random 16ga wire, and a few crimp terminals/splices. Wires are prone to being abraded, melted or chewed on by rodents and I have gotten out of a couple sticky situations by scavenging up wire for a temporary patch to obvious damage.

Depending on how much space you have on top of that, a $9 multi meter from harbor freight is also a great carry tool to determine if fuses are blown without pulling each one individually, or seeing if someone’s charging system is still working.

I have Spotify premium (the one single subscription habit I allow myself) and haven’t heard an ad for years. But that is for music.

They are talking about when Spotify is used for podcasts and long form content, where creators often insert sponsored sections by themselves.

What I’m becoming worried about now is all these corporations now realizing that they can simply supply price the average consumer out of owning electronics or any kind of compute. And locking them into renting or leasing access to data center compute and keeping the power of information further consolidated in corporate interests.
