They were phased out for a reason… When I was young everyone in the village had either 3or 4 digits in their phone number. Was very straightforward to use with these phones.

That’s what the data centers are for. Makes sense. A lot of people times a lot of companies equals insane compute power.
But then they’ll notice it costs a shitton of money, and downgrade the LLM to Luna, and then not actually learn anything that Amazon, Meta and Google don’t already know anyway.
And it still costs a shitkilo or money.

That’s one instance of a troll farm from 11 years ago.
Surely nowadays these troll farms are LLM powered instead of human powered and of course need compute power.
Where the humans sit that orchestrate these bot networks is another topic.

The tendency to swing back and forth between ideologies was for a long time a superpower of democracies. No person was in power long enough to ruin it, that property was reserved for autocracies.
- Now, at the end of American democracy, this once again proves to be the case.
- or, alternatively, at this time in history, technological progress happens so quick that even a few years of democratic instability while an autocracy happens to be stable, are enough to change the power in the world anyway,

Maybe the USA will be able to get rid of the national traitors who do everything to keep the USA in the great 1930 mind- and technology set. It has vast resources and may even be able to catch up from behind.

Conspiracies exist. Many are well documented, or at least documented enough to call out specific people for specific behavior.
A conspiracy mindset ignores those, and instead suspects conspiracy everywhere else, and usually without substantial evidence. Easy instances are detectable when the sentence goes they do something to harm us in a vaguely related way.
The latter is all over YouTube, and what influencers make money with. The former is sometimes reposted on YouTube after some journalists publish it in a serious media outlet.

Why not? It makes some people nod “finally that’s on screen”, feeling a little not of relief, and then nothing changes.

In the same manner, nobody is really suggesting that LLMs will suddenly disappear after the AI bubble pops
There is a significant portion of AI haters who think exactly that, for some reason.

It isn’t profitable at current pricing, and it will have lower adoption at higher pricing.
The subscriptions that are there to expand customer base, sure.
But that significant part of the business where large corporations pay API prices? These are designed to cover the costs.
The reasons why the companies still running losses with subscriptions is that the market devide is far from settled.

That citation has nothing to do with mathematical knowledge. It’s assertion of attributes that religious people deem relevant for personhood before god. It admits AI capabilities insofar as they’re undeniable, but then focuses on assertions what this does not mean.
Coming from a religious household nothing about this is a surprise. It’s very well articulated, but it still does not carry any special insights. It’s a completely predictable position for a religious leader.

Hosted nextcloud services start at $5/month. It scales up for more users, but so does Microsoft.
Each one of the content creators ais subject to the same forces that the algorithm creates. No matter where you start, the content plus the algorithm slowly pushes you as well as the content creators into one direction. It may be a weak force, but it’s always there. content creators who want to grow their views do not have the liberty to evade it.
The direction is always towards divisive positions and decreasingly evidence based arguments, generally anti institutional, anti science, anti journalistic media.
YouTube as a feed is poison for a healthy mindset.
